Manchester United scouts reportedly pay a visit to “one of the biggest talents” in Europe.

Manchester United is believed to have sent scouts to watch Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedraogo. According to Sport Witness, Sky Germany, who revealed the Red Devils’ interest in the German wonderkid, believes he is “one of the biggest talents in Europe.”

Ouedraogo, 17, has only played in 15 league games this season due to injury, but he has still managed to contribute two assists and two goals. He established himself as a standout player for Schalke 04’s Under-17 squad in just nine games, sending out twelve assists and scoring nine goals.

The midfield player has also made a name for himself with the Germany Under-17 team, where he has appeared in 17 matches since 2022. It’s not surprising that Manchester United is attempting to convince Schalke to allow Ouedraogo to leave given his quality as a midfield player.

Scouts from other dominant teams in Europe have also been observing him play, in addition to the Red Devils who are interested in hiring him. According to the report, United sent a scout to watch him play in Schalke’s match against Dusseldorf around the end of April. It’s uncertain if he would be willing to leave in the summer to join another club, given that he is now seeing a lot of playing time for his current one.

Manchester United’s manager takes issue with how the media covers the team’s transfer activity.

Manchester United’s manager, Erik Ten Hag, has criticized the media for their coverage of the club’s transfer activities in response to reports. The transfer window will be busy for the under-fire Dutch manager if United’s dismal campaign continues to put pressure on him.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Dutch manager said the following things at his pre-match conference:

Manchester United’s chances of making the Europa League are slim, and they will not be competing in the Champions League the following year as a result of their miserable season. Ten Hag is unlikely to stick with the club over the summer unless the new co-owners, INEOS, are willing to give him another chance.

The Red Devils are going to be looking for a strong finish to the season in order to attract their targets come summertime. If Ten Hag wants to be in the Old Trafford dugout by summertime, he will have to prove his worth to the Red Devils fanbase and make the necessary transfers.
