The leader in the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Taylor Pendrith, states that “I’ve got to stay aggressive” in order to win his maiden Professional Tour event.

Taylor Pendrith took the lead in The CJ Cup Byron Nelson 2024 on Saturday, May 4, with a score of 63. The Canadian golfer is intent on winning on the PGA Tour for the first time. He has been playing well, and heading into the last round of competition, he will lead Jake Knapp by one stroke.

During the third round of The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Taylor Pendrith gave open comments to the media about his play. He admitted that he had been playing “nice golf” for a while, but he stated that he would need to win the PGA Tour event on Sunday, May 5, by shooting a low round.

Pendrith birdied two straight holes in the third round of the competition on Saturday, the fifth and sixth. He led the tournament off with a bogey-free opening round.

Taylor Pendrith had a bogey-free opening round at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson event on Thursday, May 2. Starting from the first tee, he birdied the fourth and fifth holes in a row.

After making another birdie on the ninth, Pendrith went on to score four more on the back nine. At last, he shot a 7-under 64 to finish.

In the second round, Pendrith had trouble early on, making two bogeys on the 15th and 17th holes. He did, however, play quite well on the back nine, birdieing five holes in a row from the fifth to the ninth. Pendrith finished the day with a 4-under 67 total.

In the third round, he continued his bogey-free play, concluding with three birdies and two eagles for a total of eight under sixty-three.

The 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson final round will begin at 9 a.m. ET with Adam Scott, Jorge Compillo, and Maverick McNealy taking the first shot of the day from the first tee. Taiga Semikawa, Mark Hubbard, and Dylan Wu will then play from the tenth hole.

Taylor Pendrith will take the opening shot on the course on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. ET. He’ll be teamed with Jake Knapp and Ben Kohles.
