Charles Leclerc, who was driving for Ferrari, said he was “satisfied” with his podium result in the Miami Grand Prix main event after finishing in third place.
The Monegasque driver finished P2 in the Sprint Qualifying, Sprint Race, and Qualifying, finishing just.5 seconds behind Max Verstappen over an eventful weekend full of near misses.
It’s interesting to note that he lost the main race to the Red Bull as well. The three-time world champion finished second on the podium, behind first-time victor Lando Norris.
In his post-race interview with F1TV, Charles Leclerc said he was unfortunate with the timing of the safety stop.
Charles Leclerc assesses his Miami Grand Prix starting position.
Following a dismal beginning and a great deal of wheel spin, Leclerc got into a brawl with Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz, his colleague at Ferrari.
The 26-year-old, who was quoted by the earlier source, said:
This season, Leclerc has already placed third in Jeddah and second in Melbourne, making a total of three podium finishes.
With his P3 result in Miami, he has also closed the gap on Sergio Perez, with just three points separating them in the race for P2 in the drivers’ championship. It would be fascinating to watch if Charles Leclerc could surpass the Mexican driver in the standings and secure a victory in a race during the 2024 season.
