The fourth National Poker Series India, the most sought-after and anticipated poker series in the country, began on Sunday, March 3, 2024, with over 11,800 entrants on the first day.
The National Poker Series India embarks on a 21-day journey to witness the growing poker community in the country competing against each other, showcasing impressive skill gaming, and winning a prize pool of INR 50 Cr+—a sum of money never previously given out by a poker series.
Expect the most cutting-edge experience that an Indian poker series has ever offered, as there will be over 450 medals up for grabs in this year’s competition. The series, which starts on March 3 and ends on March 24, 2024, will have 150 tournaments.
More than 11,800 entries have been submitted nationwide for the National Poker Series India 2024 as of the competition’s opening day. With an astounding 2,500+ entries in the Kick-off competition alone, it set records and experienced an astounding 25% increase over prior iterations.
Ritwik Khanna of Delhi NCR won the kick-off event and also occurred to win the first gold medal of this tournament.
National Poker tournament India also hosted a unique poker reality series called NPS CAMP to help competitors prepare for the tournament. Five lucky winners of a social media contest and leaderboard winners attended the four-day camp, which was held in a specially designed villa in Goa.
Under the direction of professional player and aficionado Abhishek Goindi, NPS CAMP was arranged in association with Poker Boot Camp India with an emphasis on promoting mental and physical well-being and teaching gameplay knowledge.
The twenty-four participants were divided into five-person teams, with each team being paired with a poker mentor. Based on a thorough analysis of each player’s games and favored style of play, the mentor recommended strategies.
The NPS camp was well planned, including yoga, tug of war, ice baths, and explanations of different breathing techniques in addition to serious poker training.
In addition, a television series with a four-part reality sequence that is based on the camp has been made. With a dash of comedy and tact, the show captures the true emotions of each person who takes on the journey while highlighting the invisible work that goes into being an expert poker player.
